Today's Thrifty Treasures

Hope everyone has had a great weekend. Awoke to a round of thunderstorms early this morning and a heavy downpour. We needed the rain, but I could have done without the fireworks that went along with it all. I understand that quiet a few lost their power, but I was fortunate and did not.


Monday is time for "Today's Thrifty Treasures" hosted by Rhoda @ Southern Hospitality http://southernhospitalityblog.com/ . If you have not already, go over to visit Rhoda to see what she and the other participants have to share this week. These are the finials that I bought at HL's 90% off sale.

The one on the right was orig. $29.99 - bought for $3 (it went home with my daughter), and the one on the left was orig. $19.99 - bought for $2.

The one on the left in the first picture will probabley get painted black to go with one of candle holders I painted black - not sure just yet. The one in the last picture - not sure what I will do with it as have not decided what room I am going to use it in . Have you ever gotten to a point that you just come to a "stand still" in making decisions? I am at that point and it is because I have to many unfinished projects going at the same time. Of course I did not help the situation as I went to a bead show yesterday, (bought a few things) so more projects!! My daughter called yesterday and said they won't be able to come in today, because ____________!!!! Well Guess What?? It is a good thing, because I had forgotten they had planned to come. Oooops!!

    great finds!!! I'm new with Hobby Lobby... do they frequently have 90% sales? There is one in UT but it is about a hour from my house.

    What incredible things! What do you call them? They look very classic - a great buy.

    I find that the inability to make decisions/do anything piles up and then suddenly there's a breakthrough and you finish three projects in a day! Hope that happens to you soon...

    Great finials! I know what you mean about having too many unfinished projects ... maybe we should declare a moratorium on shopping until we use what we already have! Nah ... on second thought ... probably not going to happen, is it?

    So funny about forgetting your daughter was coming to visit! Sounds like something I'd do!

    Those finials are gorgeous! I now must find some for my living room!

    You mentioned on my blog, the bench I received from my in-laws...I turned it over, and it's attached to a backer board thingee...I'm not sure I'd be able to do it with my staple gun, but I wish I could since I haven't sewed anything since junior high! I will have to think on this thing, cuz it's a lovely bench. =)

    I went by HL this weekend but the largest discount was 50% off. Didn't see anything I needed or wanted.

    Thanks for visiting my space. I wasn't sure what HL was but I knew I wanted to find it. Now I'm going to have to google Hobby Lobby and find out where the closest one is. Great Finds!
