Birdcage Transformed

A little on the cool side, but at least we have blue skies and sunshine today! ! It had gotten to the point, I thought I needed to go shopping for a boat, but then Susan over at Thoughts from Over the Rainbow was going to build an Ark, so made reservations for room on her boat.

I am joining Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch , for Metamorphosis Monday http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/. Thanks Susan for hosting this fun weekly event. My contribution this week is the redo of one of my birdcages.

I have found that when I am out and about, I have a tendency to see a use for things that may be different from what it was intended. Case in point - Was at Garden Ridge recently and wandered into the Christmas decorations section. I spotted an ornament that immediately made me think "chandelier" and that little jewel jumped in my basket and guess where I hung it? I got the idea from Cindy @ My Romantic Home http://romantichome.blogspot.com/ . Someone sent her a beautiful mini chandelier made from a fork and she hung it in one of her beautiful birdcages. Thanks Cindy for the great idea. After hanging it in one of my birdcages, I thought it needed some furniture in there also. So dug around in my minis for some white furniture (that I almost got rid of a while back), and ran across a tiny white (well almost white) poodle - and Wa La!

May need to move the poodle - looks like it is looking for a way to escape.

Close up of the "chandelier".

Photos not real great, but this thing was hard to photograph. I will do a little more "fine tuning", as I find other things to add.

A neighbor dropped by yesterday afternoon, and I have a feeling she was thinking "this girl has to much time on her hands" !! :-)
If you have not already, visit Susan to see what she and the other participants have to share this week.
Hope your weather is as pretty as it is here today!
Have a great week!
Glenda

  6. I love this solarium (oops, I mean birdcage) with the tiny chandelier and cute pup. Very clever, and no, your neighbor has too much time on HER hands if she's out visiting instead of being creative like YOU!

    Happy Met Monday...

I keep thinking of some sort of Holiday theme . . . but I'm not sure what. Something sparkly. You'll make it just perfect.

  17. I think that "seeing other uses" is called creativity and You Have got IT! I love doll houses so I adore this...but I do think the poodle needs to go out :)

  18. This is so cute I can't stand it. Would it work if you put the poodle on the chair in the corner? That's where my Caesar always is.
