Valentine Party

I had told Laurie @ Bargain Hunting (and chatting)With Laurie http://bargainhuntingwithlaurie.blogspot.com/ that I would participate in her Valentine Party. But I got to thinking, I really don't decorate for Valentine's Day. Then I remembered the ivy topiary I bought at Cracker Barrel for 70% off after Christmas. It is heart shaped and even has some red on it - a cardinal.

Better picture of the cardinal.

A few other hearts around the house. I took these pictures this time last year.
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketThis is a little handmade Valentine I found in with some vintage valentine cards in an antique store many years ago. When I opened it, I immediately recognized the name of the person who made the card. The store owner gave it to me. My Aunt made it when she was a very young child (she said probably first grade). She past away several years ago and was in her 90's.

Be sure and visit Laurie to see what she and the other participants have to share with us. Thank you Laurie for hosting this fun event.

I don't decorate for Valentine's Day either, but once I started looking around and being creative, it fell into place. Maybe I just wanted to go to a party really bad! lol!!

  29. I had a heart shaped topiary once, but my brown thumb killed it. LOL I am trying to grow more plants these days and am having a better time at it. I love your vintage Valentine that belonged to your Aunt. How fun to have it. I have been able to visit some friends lately- Mr. S is not needing quite as much attention as he had been. Yea! Things are going better and I actually have some time for myself these days. Hope to be back again soon. hugs, Sue
