Little Treasures

Time for "Show and Tell Friday" hosted by Cindy @ http://romantichome.blogspot.com/ Thanks Cindy for hosting this event again this week.
I know many of you have probably seen these old sewing baskets around before. Apparently they were very popular at one time (early 1900's). I got this one at an auction many years ago and it is in good shape - many of them did not survive. Yes - that is where I keep my needles, thread, etc. You can tell I don't sew much anymore. :) The hat stand also is very old and it was given to me by someone who got it at an auction at a very old store in Arkansas. The hat I found at Stein Mart, and I added the flower. No I don't wear it - It is a child's size. An adult size was double the price and I don't wear hats anyway. :-) I just thought the stand needed a hat! :-)

This is my contribution to "Show and Tell Friday". Be sure and visit Cindy to see what she and the other participants have to share this week.
The weather is suppose to be great this weekend, so I plan on getting a good dose of Vitamin D! Have a great weekend!

I love that old hat stand and what a great idea to purchase a child's hat instead of an adult!

My daughter, who loves everything pink, would go 'bananas over this'!!!!

Oh, do enjoy the sunshine. It's raining cats and dogs as I type...but I do hope the weekend will be warmer and dryer at sunrise. LOL

Hi Glenda,
The hatstand is beautiful. My mother's sewing basket looked very much like yours (though not in as good condition ... she used it a LOT). Now I'm wondering where it is ... I'm going to have to take inventory one of these days (not anytime soon though!).

You did a really nice job photographing the objects in your still life. I like the way the veil "connects" the hat and the basket.

Hope your weekend goes well!
Bill

I am doing catch up as I have not been on my computer much lately. I also have not been leaving many comments because I get confused with these "Outdoors Wednesday", "Show and Tell Friday", Pink Saturday etc. etc. and they are all hosted????? by someone. And I noticed that I missed some good things by skipping them. I love your greenhouse and can't wait to see what else you add to it. Also you have not been doing the dollhouse because of the floors??? Maybe I can help and show you and easy way to do them. I love reading your blog when it is about you and your life but I do get confused when you say to link to someone else.

Very pretty vignette! I adore old sewing baskets. My aunt gave me her mil's years ago and it was stocked full of old vintage sewing things. I had so much fun with it.
