A Dab of This and That Ramble....

Even tho the predicted temps for the next week do not hint that Fall is just around the corner.....

there are other signs.  Daughter is busy with her crochet needles and yarn,  adding to her family's supply of beanies to keep their heads warm when the temps drop below "just a nip" in the air.
I see a jar of the well known Fall candy has been added to the table already.  Hmmm! Reminds me -  I need to add a bag of autumn mix to my shopping list.

She is picking the last of the tomatoes and cucumbers from their garden.
Many of the tomatoes are being picked green and put in the window to ripen to keep the pests from damaging them.

Even the early morning shadows are starting to look a bit different....

Lazy, Hazy Days........

The hazy look in the background was caused by an afternoon Summer shower,
which causes the humidity to rise, but also makes the green grass grow.

Dab of This and That Outdoor Life....

A garden guardian spider my daughter found in her flower bed.
Don't know how harmless they are, but I don't think I would get close enough to find out.
Her crepe myrtle that separated down the middle.  I asked her if she thought "Bill" the stray cat that adopted her family used it to get up on their roof, as they have seen him up there a few times and not sure how he got there. Hmmm......
A squirrel in my courtyard decided it was to hot to run up and down the tree, so he sprawled out on the concrete in the shade.  Not a good pic, but had I opened the door it would have run off. Think the heat index was 107 or higher the day I took the picture.
End of a hot Summer day, a late afternoon storm rolls in....
