Dab of This and That

A couple of years ago, about this same time of the year, I stopped in a florist/decor/gift shop to purchase a couple of candles. The Fall displays and flowers were beautiful, so asked permission to take some pictures and explained how I would use them in my blog. They gave permission (very reluctantly I might add), so I took some pictures, thanked them, paid for my candles and left. As it turned out, most of the pictures were not all that good and I ended up deleting the majority of them. Must have had the camera on the wrong setting, as most are a bit out of focus. Also, I the lighting was not great for picture taking and I did not want to use the flash in the shop. Recently I was digging around in my pictures, looking for some with a touch of Fall and decided to take a few of them to picasa and see if I could improve on them a bit.

I think ornamental cabbages are so pretty .......

Great weather predicted here for this next week and hope it is the same in your area.
Have a great week!

I love those ornamental cabbages too - especially the ones with the long stems. Very pretty!

Awful weather here. I think we're getting all the rain we didn't get the past two months!

They're gorgeous...glad you decided to give them another try:-)
It's a bit overcast today and about 20 degrees cooler than just a few days ago. I love it!

Beautiful!!!!!!!

I kind of gave up on asking if I can take pics. The second you ask they start getting all funny! I was in an Asian super market a few months back with my hubby.I was taking pictures of all the beautiful produce when one of the workers flipped out and told me I can not have a camera inside the store.

Another time I was in Cali. visiting some family. We stopped in a little Mexican restaurant for lunch. While my family was ordering food I waited at the table and took a few random pictures of nothing so I could test the lighting. The store owner came out and asked if they could see what I took pictures of....really? I tried to explain that I was just testing the lighting and showed them the pictures I took of the walls....so silly. Anyhoo I put the camera away and didn't bring it back out the rest of the meal

Something about a big flashy camera just draws attention.

They look beautiful to me! I think using the flash is ok sometimes! I did with my last tablescape and it worked just fine.
We are supposed to be in the 70's later this week which will be great by me!
Hugs,
Cindy

Hello Glenda,

If you had not mentioned they were cabbage I would have assumed they were roses. I may be loosing my eyesight huh? Lovely nonetheless. Take care.

Well, they look lovely to me - the colour in the cabbage is so soft - like a rose.

Your photos are lovely. At first, I thought the cabbages were roses!(Hmmm, reminds me of the old "cabbage roses" designs).

It's rainy and gray here this morning, hopefully the week will brighten.

Ornamental cabbages are so interesting. I wonder if deer would eat them?

I think they are beautiful too. This month's Southern Living has some gorgeous ones on a porch. I never see them around here, but I'd love to add a few. I need to do some research. I think the photos look great!

I think ornamental cabbages are pretty too. I always buy some to plant in a planter on my deck every fall.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't ask to take photos unless there are people in it. Maybe I should?! Love those ornamental cabbage photos!
