My Favorite Kind of Shopping

I have been on a "shopping free diet" for some time now, with the exception of the necessities. Still on a mission to "clean out" around here, and I have not worked on that mission for some time now due to other "stuff" going on.. Of course "necessities" does include jewelry making supplies, so made a trip to a bead show last weekend.

Replaced my supply of rhinestone balls and rondelles, some vintage flatware pendants. Also found some chain with beads already added and a locket that I plan to add a bit of bling.
Of course gotta have beads and a few pendants............
Now I just need to get busy - Christmas is not that far off.

It is that time of the year - More lists to be made! Decorate for the holidays, gifts to be bought/made and wrapped, cards to be addressed and mailed, the "to do" list to get the house in order for company (especially since you are still finding pieces of last year's Christmas tree between the carpet and baseboard), and that mile long grocery list to make all those yummy dishes that we indulge in only once a year, and those social obligations you had rather NOT deal with. WOW! That is a long sentence! :-D

I made the comment recently that I may not put up a Christmas tree this year and thought I was going to insight a riot ! For many years I have put it up before everyone is here for Thanksgiving as the Grands look forward to it so much - almost like the beginning of their Christmas festivities. Hard to believe the holidays are here again - Guess I need to make a decision pretty soon..........
How about you - do you put up a tree every year ?

What ever your plans are for the weekend - Have a great one!
Glenda

Sounds busy! I could only imagine the dismay over no tree. I have a feeling you will do it. Enjoy your weekend too.

I always put my tree up after Thanksgiving. I bet you put yours up and look at it while making beautiful jewelry!

Ahem, I don't think that you're talking to me right? (wink)

We've got plans to go to our local farm and cut one down next Friday - it's tradition!

What ever you decide, I know that it'll be right for you.

Grandbaby girl is sooo cute Glenda!
My Mom didn't put up a tree last year because she is seldom home. But I think she kind of regretted it later when she actually was there.
Hugs,
Cindy

I definately see a Christmas tree in your near future. If nothing else, you will do it for the grands! Glad your getting some beads and jewelry replaced. I know that is one of your love's.
We will be waiting for a tree! Have a great Thanksgiving.

I can't wait to see what you create with all those new beads. And I haven't put up a tree the last couple of years (No children or grands) and the hubbs hates to help decorate so I took a break and it was quite refreshing. This year I'm feeling the need for a tree so I'll be making the effort. You however have so many who'll miss the tree so you really should put one up. Maybe a much smaller one? Vanna

I start getting stress out just reading about getting ready for the holidays! We're in major 'get rid of things' mode too.

We gone to a smaller tree now and one that we can put away with all the lights left on.

Your granddaughter looks like she's willing to run some errands for you; so cute. I can't wait to see what you create with all your new supplies.
We switched back to putting up a live tree a few years ago, but...it's always a small one that will fit on my favorite table top in the front window. I missed the smell of a real tree.

Oh, what an adorable photo of your little Grand. It made me smile. : )
As far as the tree, I've made the switch to a "plug it in and you're done" tree found here:

Once you scroll down to Christmas trees and Garlands(2nd row down and on the right). It's all white with BIG colored lightbulbs. Except I ordered mine from Amazon at a much better price about 1 1/2 years ago.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Mary Lou

I have put up as many as 4 trees. This house I put up 2 when the kids were home, but now I just put up one. We aren't even here on Christmas, so it would be easier to skip it...but, I love evenings by the tree. I'm going to attempt something different this year, there will be pictures if it works. I have to work around that pup!
