A Couple of Ooops !

Pretty little piece - probably part of an earring at one time. Maybe if I flatten it out, I can use it as a focal point for a bracelet for necklace. Yeah ! That sounds good......
Ooops! Never mind - did not survive the surgery...............

********************
Decided it was time for a pot of beef & veggie soup last weekend. Had all the ingredients on hand, so got busy.

Been making this for years. I said my children's friends could smell it miles away as they seemed to always to show up when I made a pot. But something went wrong this time and I have no clue what. It is OK, but it is suppose to be a savory soup and this time it has a bit of sweet taste (which I don't care for), and I don't know why.
Strange! :(
*************************
One of the many things I had on my "list" to do this week, was to try to rearrange the furniture in the living room. The main pieces have been in the same spots since moving here years ago and was hoping for a different look. However, after rearranging in my mind, thinking and rethinking, it is not going to happen due to where doors and window are located, etc. Sooooo............Marked that off the list.
Cleaned out papers and shredding up to date - Check
Library card renewed - Check
Picked up forms to file taxes - Check
Tags renewed - Check
Dup. keys made (after 3 sets that did not work) - Check
Spent way to much time on the computer trying to resolve issues on my blog - Check
Had planned on doing some cleanup outside, but it was cold and dreary (again) so that did not happen. - Still Pending
Schedule a couple of appointments. - Check

Check on elderly neighbor. - Check
Lots of other petty but necessary things done. - On going

As you can tell - Nothing exciting going on at Dab of This and That's house this week.
Off to see what else I can mark off the "list" that can't or won't be done - Just seems like a good way to shorten the list. :-D

Hope you are having a good and a productive week.
Glenda

It sounds like you got quite a bit accomplished. Doesn't it feel good to write things down and actually be able to cross them off? Too bad about the earring breaking in half, I've had that happen many times before. Your soup looks so good! I can smell it from here:-)

I'd say you accomplished quite a lot! I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels most of the time!

It sounds to me as if you got a lot done! As for the soup...I wonder if you used a flavored tomato/tomato sauce by mistake. Some of the flavored ones are a little sweeter. It looks good to me. It also looks somewhat like the soup I'm hoping to post tomorrow, although mine has spinach.

You are knocking off your to do list pretty good there Glenda. I have a long one, not coming along as nicely as yours though. Your soup looks delish. I made a lot of soups and crock pot meals this winter.

Too bad the piece didn't survive the surgery :( They look like real gold - could be worth something after all!

That's weird about your soup! I wonder if the can of tomatoes you used were a different type than you usually use?

Yummmmm I can almost smell that soup too....I can understand why the kids friends would come out of the woodwork *winks* I wonder why it was sweet this time around?
Looks like you got lots done Glenda. It does feel good to get things crossed off the list doesn;t it? Vanna

Too bad about the jewelry. It almost looks like a pair of earrings in the photo!

I've had recipes I've made forever turn funny on me before. Almost made me wonder if someone was sneaking an ingredient in just to mess with me.....

Have a wonderful weekend!

Seems like you got quite a bit done! The soup looks good. It's so cold today and going to be colder tomorrow so I plan on making soup tomorrow.

I should make me a list and check things off however I don't even get the list made!!
Your soup looks delicious. Did you use a different brand of tomatoes, etc?
Hugs,

Marking things off our to-do list make us feel productive. I always feel better after clearing out some of them and checking them off.

You've been busy Glenda!
And your soup looks so yummy, great for a cold winter day i would have to say.
And it sure got cold here in the last few days, hopefully it will not last.
Happy Weekend,

It's nice to see someone is making progress on a list...I'm trying.

Next time if you have a sort of sweet soup, try adding a spot or two of vinegar or worcestershire sauce to cut the sweetness. It might well be the tomatoes in the soup were just not as acidic as they have been in the past.
