Weekend Did Not Go as Planned!

Talk about a disappointment!  Last weekend I had all these big plans to take a fun road trip.    I was all packed up except for last minute items, looking forward to a great weekend, celebrating a special event for someone, great company, junkin, shopping in some wonderful shops,  beautiful scenery, Fall colors, camera ready,  and  looking forward to some outstanding food.  So - What went wrong ?   Two days before I was to leave on my trip  I got my flu shot !! Very bad decision on my part !!!
Actually, I don't know if it was the shot or picked up another "bug" somewhere.  Why now?  Lesson learned - Do Not get a flu shot or go anywhere near a Dr.'s office  any time right  before an upcoming trip and/or important event.

OK - On to other things:
Last December I made some necklaces for 3 young ladies on my Christmas list - posted about here. Couple of months ago, I went shopping for some jewelry supplies with coupons in hand. Found another strand of the charms, and had a coupon for 40% off on one item regular price, bought the chain @ 30% off reg. price, and already had the agate bead.
This one is a little different, as used a different chain, and added a eiffel tower charm

Have already gifted the necklace to someone special, but think I will be creating another one soon for someone else.
Have not been working on jewelry in a while now, but do need to get busy with Christmas just around the corner.  I just can't seem to focus on the the words Holidays and Christmas this year.  I recently commented on someone's blog that it seems like the whole year has been out of focus for me. :/

Another Dab of This and That ramble...

Sorry about your plans but at least you got your flu shot! (I swear by them for the whole family.) And I love the Frenchy vintage-looking necklace! Just my style.

Gorgeous as always, Glenda.

I had my flu shot, last check up, on Halloween...that should have been an omen right there,LOL. Had aching joints, fever and two fever blisters. I have not had a fever blister in so long I can't remember. Jim thought the leg pain was from all the walking, but I told him, why would they hurt those days and not on regular days. So I am convinced..it was the shot!

Oh Glenda, I'm so sorry you weren't able to go on your trip. It sounds like it would have been wonderful. Love the necklace. You had me with the eiffel tower picture, but then your added embellishments just made it so special. Christmas will get here, whether we are ready or not. Stay warm. laurie

Oh no Glenda, I'm so sorry to hear you missed your trip. You know I had that same thing happen a few years back when I got my first and only flu shot...I got the flu! never again. It was a dozy too.

Beautiful necklace, what a wonderful gift. Hope you find that focus soon.

Gorgeous necklaces! I told you I got sick the last time I got a flu shot. I got mine two days before Thanksgiving! I had to cook a huge dinner that year and I felt so awful.

That is such a shame, Glenda, and I hate when that happens to me! I hope you're feeling better now. I was sick last weekend too and had to cancel fun social plans.

Cute Eiffel Tower necklace!

Glenda, the last time I had a flu shot, I was sick as a dog, and stayed sick all winter! I am a nurse, and never took one, and never got sick, until I had the flu shot! Of coarse, hubby (who is also a doctor) swears that the shot did not make me sick. Sorry, I don't buy it. I have never taken one again, but was thinking I would this year, until I read your post, lol. No, I won't be getting one.
If we don't see you in blogland before next week, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Darn isn't that the way it always goes. I hate to go to the Dr just for that reason.

Love that sweet necklace - someone is loving it!
