Spring 2009
Spring 2010
I am craving certain foods lately also. Take my word - No !!! I am NOT expanding my family!!!I know what the problem is - I have to restrict certain things in my diet and I eventually start craving them - especially salty foods.
One in particular, a hot pastrami on rye with brown mustard and a couple of barrel cured dill pickles.
Many moons ago (in the middle ages), I use to have one on occasion for lunch at a small deli that had some wonderful food. I have not had that in so many years, mainly due to the salt content. But for some reason I have been craving it lately and not sure I know of a good place to get one now.
Watched a show on the food channel a while back that featured a place serving hot pastrami sandwiches that had 2 1/2 to 3 ins. or more of pastrami on the sandwich - nope! I just want a normal sandwich with a stack about a inch high on rye, with a bit of a good brown mustard and of course, a crock of barrel cured pickles on the table. That will do just fine.....
Another craving I have had lately - A small hole in the wall type lunch/grill place I went to frequently for lunch many years ago, had a wonderful, grilled hot dog. Actually it was like a combination of smoked sausage and hot dog, with just a bit of coleslaw and yellow mustard, and served with the barrel cured dills. Two different cities, years apart but the memories are there.
And the wonderful stuffed lobster dinner I had about a week before I had my first child and guess what was sitting on the table?!? A crock full of barrel cured dill pickles on the table !! Got up the next morning with swollen fingers and ankles.
See a pattern here ?? Those great pickles - well the other food also!
Yep! Craving the kind of things I should not eat.
Oh and see that ray of sunshine in the top right corner...
Spring 2010
I am craving a healthy dose of that also !!
Just another Dab of This and That ramble...... Have a great week!

I am craving Spring and food too! You have made me hungry talking about food :) I really want something sweet.
Stay warm.

I, too, am already craving Spring. You made me hungry also!! I love those dill pickles (and no, I am not expanding my family either).

At least the spring view from your window is good for your health! You've made me hungry now and it's not close enough to dinner time. One thing I crave constantly is a full plate of the best nachos I've ever tasted. They used to serve them at my favorite Mexican restaurant as an appetizer for 8, but I ate the whole plate for dinner.
Oh I'm so craving warmer weather and an end to this snow. (more today) yuck! The pastrami sounds delish...now I'm craving one! LOl

I actually enjoy the winter months for the coziness of it. But I love the beauty of Spring. It will be here soon enough. Enjoy the rest of your week!

It was only 8 degrees when I woke up this morning! I am sick of winter too but I know Spring is still a bit away.
Love your flowers, just gorgeous!
Cindy
Loving the floral photos and understand the salty craving. Not supposed to have it.
In fact I am craving a salty/sweet combination.
I've seen the weather news and the storm in the south! I'm craving spring in a big way too. We haven't had an awful winter, I have to admit - winter gets long.
LOL! I just had craving for chips and had to have a handful.
We're under a winter storm watch tomorrow.
I was just trying to explain to someone this morning why it is that I want to live in Florida. She said she would miss the cooler weather/season change and I said that I could always come north for a vacation. The thought of living somewhere that there aren't months where the trees, flowers and grass are all brown and dead, really appeals to me. I would miss fall, but I would just drive north until I found it!
I'm craving carbs! It isn't that I'm not having them, but I did a major cut back on my food at the first of the year and even though I don't usually eat much bread at all...that is what I want now-right out of the oven and dripping in butter!
Mmm...I'm a pickle lover too. I love to get Peter Piper's Pickles at our local farmer's market. Yumm! They even make them with jalapenos for a spicy blend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I want some!!!
Enjoy your week!
