Instead of Doing What I Should

I had to play a bit....

Supplies out and need to put a hole in one of leafs on the pendant, so pull out the handy tools. First the hole punch would not go thru ?!?! Tried a nail, then a punch . Nope - No go! Yes - that is chocolate on the right, but I was good and did not indulge (only because I had just had lunch).
After tapping the indention I had already made a few times with the nail and  punch, then using the hole punch again I was able to go thru the metal (don't know what kind of metal it is).  Why did I not use this handy, dandy drill?
I bought the recommended bit for different types of metals and something is not working like it should. Or could it possibly be that  "the operator is intimidated" and not doing something right.... ?  Anyway - Mission accomplished and this is the result.  The red, glass beads  are a dark red, but look much lighter in the pics.  The heart is a locket - Not sure if will be putting something in it or leaving that up to the recipient.....
I really need to get over the intimidation of the drill as I have several tiny salt spoons that I want holes drilled in.

Glenda - I'm 99.99% sure that the chocolate would have helped make the hole easier!!

It's really beautiful, Glenda! And I'm always glad to hear of a fellow jewelry artist's success story! I know what you mean about being intimidated. But you just gotta plunge right in and hope for the best...now if I could only take my own advice.

That Dremel is quite the tool! I have one but it's a small cordless one -- still very useful (although on small wood pieces, not jewelry!) Glad you got it done though; it's a lovely piece.

So pretty Glenda. Chocolate is my weakness. I would have eaten that bar whilst contemplating that drill!

You are amazing! I love every piece of jewelry you make.

We are enjoying sunshine and a tad bit of melting snow today. Snow is to return by tomorrow. We are thinking it might go north of us this time. That's fine with us. It will still make it's way into the Mississippi eventually.

That is so pretty, Glenda. No way that chocolate would still be there if it was next to where I was working. I'm sure I would have rationalized that it would give me the strength to punch the hole. laurie

I'm afraid of power tools...I can't remember ever using one. Give me a hammer and a saw and I'm good, but add a plug and I stay away. I just know I'd end up in the ER!

I think the red with the heart is so pretty...very professional looking. Lovely.
