Giveaway and Dab of This and That

I am here to spread a little gossip ! Many of you already know Betsy @ My Salvaged Treasures
Well - Let me tell you what she is doing these days - She is having a giveaway to celebrate 200 + friends (followers)! I know it is not nice to gossip, but she gave permission to spread this gossip - so go on over there to get the whole story. Oh - A little more gossip about her ! She repurposes vintage and old jewelry, buttons and bit and pieces of all kinds of things - That's the truth I tell you !! While you are over there click "My Website Shop" on her sidebar, and find out how talented she is.

Welcome: I want to say "Welcome" to all the new "Readers". I always try to warn everyone - I have a tendency to ramble. :D

Just a couple of necklaces I made lately. I don't know the age on the broach. I keep looking at it, and don't think it is vintage. The rest is new material except for the little oval bead at the end as it was in a gab bag I got a while back. The large oval is shell, and the  hearts are mother of pearl.
Click picture to enlarge.
This one is a combination of vintage and new. The chain that is black and gold, heart and key are vintage, and I made the black glass bead chain from new materials.
Played around with this picture and changed it to black and white.
I did not do any "junkin" this weekend for a couple of reasons. I need to use up some of the supplies I already have, other things going on, not to mention my tummy was not on it's best behavior - nuff said about that.
So....What have I accomplished today besides play on the computer ? Taxes ! ! ! Is it Happy Hour yet ?!?!
Have a great week !
Glenda

Thank you Glenda for all your gossip...you are just too sweet.
I absolutely love the necklaces. The blue stone is beautiful and I really like the rosary look of the other one. Great use of materials.

I think it is fun to see the necklace with new materials next to the one with vintage chain etc. I have to say that I like the patina on the old gold items best...don't you? Maybe you should make a silver version too...the black and white pictures shows how pretty that would be!

As for weather...it is 56 and dropping. We are in the midst of a thunderstorm and it is dark and pouring. I'll even take that over snow!

Hi Glenda, Oh! I too like a good gossip and I will go and check the link.
Your black glass bead chain is so pretty, I love any jewellery that has a heart motif.

Glenda, your creations are gorgeous! I love the way you put the black beads on that necklace with the key and heart. Since my birthstone is a saphire, I'm really partial to the blue broach necklace. Your gossip is the good kind! LOL! laurie
