Someone Has Been Busy......

preparing for the holidays - but not me.
Hard to  believe Thanksgiving has come and gone already, and Christmas is just around the corner.  I don't shop on Thanksgiving weekend, and it was a bit to cold for me to venture out anyway.  I did manage to put away the Fall decor used inside, and hope to start decorating for Christmas in the very near future.  I did put out the red placemats - does that count?
A quite Thanksgiving Day  at "Dab of This and That", as enjoyed an early Thanksgiving last weekend. Daughter and family hosted this year, and the first time I have not had to cook in many, many years.  What a treat - I am still doing the "happy dance" over that!!
Enjoyed a couple of treats that were a result of their pecan harvest.
Pumpkin cake with caramel icing and toasted pecans.
From tree to            harvest          to yummy results.
No picture of the cinnamon/sugar toasted pecans that were yummy.  What did not get eaten, went home with a certain other daughter - if you are reading this, you know who you are. :D
******
Crochet needles flying so heads and ears will be warm.
******
Their Christmas decorating is already done inside and outside  - more on that in another post. She, and SIL  hit the early sales and have all their major shopping done.
*******
And a certain "fat cat" says.....
Wake me when its over !!
As for what "Dab of This and That" has accomplished planning for Christmas ?  I am working on it - I really am!!!! (At least the "lists"  are started!)

Linking up @ "Mosaic Monday"

Have a great week!!

Yummy! It must have been so nice for you not to have to cook, just sit back, relax, and enjoy your family. I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet, I need to get through next weekend first, lol.

So glad that you had a wonderful time with your family. The food looks and sounds fab! I hurt my shoulder somehow and see time just slipping by without getting things done!

Oh, I know that happy dance since one daughter hosts Thanksgiving, and the other Christmas now.
The crocheted gifts look nice.

Yes, I think red placemats count. There is so little time between T'giving and Christmas this year that I'm not sure how much Christmas decorating I'm going to get done. Sounds like a wonderful celebration at your daughter's. I have done very little gift shopping. I'd better get busy. laurie

Gosh you've done well with the crochet Glenda. One of these fine years I'll learn enough crochet to actually make something. :)

Red placemats definitely count. It's a good foundation. It is always nice not to have to cook, isn't it? Less stress for sure. The pecan goodies sound good....Christine

Well, I am good to go on Christmas, but obviously it was the blogging that I didn't get around to doing. I just couldn't stay awake or alert enough at the end of the day, but I am shopped, wrapped and decorated. I have a little baking to do but not as much this year as we don't want to eat it! That cake sounds delicious...yum.

We are sitting here at 63 degrees and waiting for the "bad" to hit. We have watches for ice and snow. You are going to get this one too aren't you? I am still hoping they have it wrong!
