Yum.....

Sticky, Gooey Homemade Cinnamon Rolls..
Friend of daughter and her little girl visited her recently, and the next morning my daughter made homemade cinnamon rolls and biscuits.  She said the the little girl was fascinated watching her make them, and told her the only ones they have at home come out of a can.  I can't say anything - mine always came from the bakery or grocery already made. Ooops!
Then there was a bowl full of fresh baked biscuits...
I never was good at making biscuits - have not even tried in many years. Rarely eat one, and I am very picky about the texture and taste.
Goes back to childhood years - had to eat them almost every morning. They were heavy and made with lard, with thick gravy made with bacon drippings (arteries were probably clogged by the time I could walk), then walked to school. Never was a breakfast person, and they did not settle well - "Shudder".

Those cinnamon rolls sure do look yummy, never tried making them from scratch either. Enjoy your nice weather break.

The cinnamon rolls would have been a hit in my house, the biscuits ~ not so much! I love baking much more than just cooking. But that can get very dangerous, if you know what I mean! Glad things are warming up for you. We're getting warmer, too, but everything is melting and causing flooding. Have a great week.

Now I could sit down and enjoy a good cinnamon roll but my waistline would complain. Valerie

My cinnamon rolls come out of a Pillsbury can too!
I grew up on fluffy tea biscuits or scones (almost the same thing) and continue to bake them once or twice a week myself to have with jam or marmalade . My mother used shortening in hers but I use butter. I've read how the biscuits from the south are different and often accompanied by gravy. Depends on your family background I guess.

They look pretty good to me Glenda!
In our house we had good old porridge, brown sugar and milk or cream for breaky.
I still love it but I just have it with yoghurt and fresh fruit - more healthy but not as yummy!

I actually love making bread
and cinnamon rolls, I also love eating them...so I have almost stopped making them. Did that make sense? That is one of the lousy things about getting older...the things I really love to cook all make me gain weight! Making salads and chicken just isn't much fun:) Hope all is well with you!

Isn't it funny how the things we were forced to eat as kids are those we have the highest aversion to as adults? Love those cinnamon rolls - yummy!
