Dab of This and That

I have been busy today playing catch up around here, as I have been busy with jury duty all week. It seems they were determined to use my services this week. Called on a case - dismissed due to something that happened to my daughter less than 2 years ago. Called on another case - dismissed as it was settled without a jury at the last minute. Called on another case - I served and finished last night. Yay ! ! ! I am a "people watcher", and believe me, I have had more than my share of that this week. I met and talked with some very nice and interesting people (one who is very well known in this area), and unfortunately was in the company of a few that I had rather not have been. Also, I am very claustrophobic in certain situations and it was tested "to the hilt" a little over a week ago when I went to be "qualified" and had to park in underground parking and was directed to the lowest level. :-( IS THERE A SYMBOL FOR PANIC ATTACK ? !? ! ?
So today has been a day of laundry, cleaning out the fridge (lots of leftovers from "to go" food this week), cleaning bathrooms, mopped the kitchen floor, etc., etc.. I also cleaned out some clothes and shoes - bagged them up and put them in the trunk of my car to take to GW. Had hoped to get some painting done today in order to finish up some projects, but it is just to hot.

Have you ever wondered what a scratch on an eye looked like? Probably not! I was going thru some photos and ran across this one, that my daughter sent me back in June. We all heard growing up "don't do that - you will put somebody's eye out" or "don't do that or someone is going to get hurt". Well it happened - one of my Grands swung a pool stick around and hit another Grand in the eye. Thank goodness , it only scratched it and it is healed now after 2 weeks of antibiotic drops and wearing sun glasses. This is a picture my Daughter sent me that she took when the ER put some type of drops in his eye to photo the injury - the neon green part is the scratch.

This is a necklace I made by repurposing a broach that I bought at a yardsale many years ago. The rose beads are old - think I bought them at a bead shop. The black glass beads and chain are new materials.

I am so far behind reading everyone's posts to see what you have been up to, I don't know that I will ever get caught up. I have found that it is very easy to get behind.
Just another Dab of This and That !
IT IS FRIDAY ! ! ! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND ! !

Wow, that is an amazing photo, Glenda.

I've only been called for jury duty once and served only one day. Trial went quickly. Interesting.
J has served two or three times. All one day deals, no sequestering or going back.

Hope your weekend is wonderful!

I know this has felt like a long week with that jury duty business going on, but I'm glad you didn't have to sit through a trial. Oh Gosh! I don't know how to judge it, but that scratch on the eye looks huge. I'm glad she was able to recuperate from it so well. What a pretty neclace you created. Lauralu said you have inspired her to start creating jewelry again. laurie

I've never been called for Jury duty.. hubby has and it was dismissed each time. My daughter has to go to court all the time.. since she's an investigator in sex crimes.. she loves her job.. but I'm so relieved she's off the streets as a police officer.. I love your brooch.. girl the talent you have is out of this world..
That scratch looks huge to our naked eyes.. pretty scary large or small.. hope you're able to relax some now..hugs ~lynne~

Glenda,
I'm glad you finished your civic duty! Sounds like you got the run around, geesh the hoops you had to jump through.
Your grand's eye is impressive, but I am sure it was not a pleasant experience. Glad it will mend with time.
