Another beautiful day here in the MidSouth. It is Friday and time again for "Show and Tell Friday" hosted by Cindy @ My Romantic Home" http://romantichome.blogspot.com/ Thanks Cindy for hosting the fun event again this week.
This is about another one of my unintended collections. :-) Pottery pitchers. Sorry the pictures are not bigger, but I already had them in photobucket at a smaller size and did not have time to retake them .
The first one had belonged to a friend many years ago. I told him that if he ever decided to get rid of it to let me know and I would buy it from him. My birthday was not far off and he gave it to me for my birthday. I saw a picture of one just like it in either Country Living or Country Home around the same time, and it was just called "painted pottery". Also saw one like it at a flea market with a large chip and the dealer was asking $60 ! !
The next 2 solid blue ones I ended up with as my daughter was getting rid of some things that was passed down to her that had belonged to her Great Grandmother. I claimed these 2 blue pitchers. The one with a raised design is old, but not sure about the other one as there are no markings to go by. The blue and white with the cow design once belong to my Mother - I don't think it is old, but is a reproduction.
Now I have a collection! The brown one is old - I got it at an estate auction of a relative.
That is my contribution to "Show and Tell Friday" . Be sure and visit Cindy to see what she and the other participants have to share this week.
Have a great weekend !!
Glenda
ETA: Just remembered I did a post on these pitchers back in Feb., so some of you may have already seen them.

Hi Glenda -
It's been a while since I stopped by :) Isn't it funny how we don't mean to start a collection but soon end up with one :) I never meant to collect roosters but somehow I have quite a few that I have "collected". Love your pitchers, the blue ones really caught my eye :) Have a great day.

I love pitchers in all colors ! I thought it was called jars. They are all very beautiful !
I really like those. I have a big enamel pitcher, which is traditionally French, but sadly I don't think this will turn into a collection, because they are very popular and therefore over-priced here.
I really like the blue ones. My pitcher collection is plastic. LOL Hugs
Love all of your pitchers. They are all so pretty. I am always attracted to all the different shapes and colors. Hugs, Marty
I love pitchers, too! Yours are really lovely!
Hi Glenda!
I love all your pitchers!
Have a great day!
What a great collection! I especially like the first one - how nice of your friend to give it to you!
Well your collection may have begun by chance, but it surely is a nice one! I really love that first pitcher, the "painted pottery" one. Very rustic looking.
(Our kitchen needs painting, too -- needs other things also. But that will wait for spring -- no money or time now!)

Oh, I love all of them, but my favorite is your first one pictured. How unique. How nice of your friend to let you have it. Lucky gal.
I hadn't seen your previous post so am glad you showed us again. What a lovely collection and I love the stories that go with them.
Best wishes, Natasha.
I love the blue and white one with the cow--sooo different!
Those are so nice! I can see many beautiful flower arrangements in them in the future! I'll be keeping an eye out! I love the brown one! With sunflowers perhaps??? NICE!

Isn't it funny how collections evolve and why?
Enjoy!

Glenda, your pitchers are so pretty. I have several accidental collections (well, maybe more than several). Isn't this weather wonderful? I'm lovin' it! laurie
Beautiful collection, Glenda!

What a lovely and unique collection. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for your generous comment.
I started a similar collection of creamers. They just grow don't they? I especially like your blue pitchers. Do you use them?
