It is the Holidays ! !

One thing about the holidays - we eat things that we don't normally eat, because they will make you gain weight, or they are not good for you, etc., etc., and we justify what we ate by simply saying "but it is the Holidays". Where am I going with this?? No where - I just need to justify eating baklava for breakfast this morning. :-)
I am linking this post up with "Deck the Halls" hosted by Susan @ Thoughts From Over the Rainbow http://thoughtsfromovertherainbow.blogspot.com/

In a previous post, I said I would post more pictures of the gingerbread houses that were on display in the lobby of the location where I attended a luncheon. They were created by the culinary staff at the hotel.

Hope you enjoyed seeing these works of art as much as I did. Be sure and visit Susan to see what see and the other participants have to share this week.

Last week a couple of the stations here were saying a 20% chance of some of that dreaded white stuff Christmas Eve night. :( Now "they" are saying the temps won't be as low as originally expected and will have 40% chance of rain. Yay! No snow!

Glenda, So you don't want my snow, huh? LOL It is only a small dusting and that I can handle. The big ones come in Jan. and Feb.
I love these gingerbread houses. I would like to see some in person to get the full effect. You were lucky to have been able to do so.

Hi Glenda -
Love the gingerbreads. I tried one year to make one when my boys were younger......it didn't work out too well....we ate 75% of the candy and some of the frosting we were using to glue the gingerbread and finally parts of the gingerbread :)
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
Hugs,
Toni

Wow! I love gingerbread houses, but those werre gingerbread castles! I used to make one each year when our kids were little. I always copied the one on the front of the Good Housekeeping magazine. Brings back memories! Linda

Glenda-How people can make these just amazes me--I used to try to make the ones with graham crackers with my kids and even those fell apart. Have you see the one made by the White House chef? It is incredible. Hope you have a very merry (non-white :) Christmas. So glad I got to know you this year!
