Outdoor Wednesday

Out running errands one day and saw this Koi pond and could not believe I actually had my camera in the car that day. Thought I would share some of the pictures with you.

When I walked up closer to the pond, the fish moved closer to where I was. I have a feeling they were expecting me to throw them some food. Sorry fish - only thing I had in my purse that was edible was some mints, and I don't think you would care for those.
I remember walking by the same pond last Winter and it was frozen over, except for a small area, and the fish were still in there.
I am linking up with Susan , who is our hostess of "Outdoor Wednesday" . Thanks Susan for hosting again this week. http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/.
Be sure and visit Susan to see what she and the other participants have to share this week.
Hope everyone is having a great week.
Glenda

Neat! We had a small pond at our last home with Shubunkin. I gave to a friend of mine when we moved and she still has them. I love going to visit and feed them.

Dropping by from Outdoor Wednesday (post #3). If you haven't registered for our glass vessel sink giveaway, it's open until 5pm EST Wednesday.

I love watching koi. I really want some for our pond, but so afraid the great blue heron will eat them and they are not cheap.

That is a lovley pond. The water is so blue and I love seeing the pretty gold fish. Yes, they were wanting food. I have taken my great grandson to a park with a huge pond filled with them.

HELLO GLENDA!
I MISSED YOU DURING YOUR BLOG BREAK.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THE STUNNING PICTURES OF THE KOI POND. WHOEVER OWNS THIS POND PUT ALOT OF LOVE AND MONEY INTO IT.
WE HAVE A KOI POND FOR 4 YEARS OUT OF HALF A WHISKEY BARREL. OUR FISH HAVE GOTTEN SO BIG WE MUST MAKE A POND BEFORE FALL. OURS HAVE HAD ICE FORM OVER THE TOP DURING THE WINTER AND MY HUSBAND JUST CRACKS THE ICE...AND YOU DON'T FEED THEM DURING THE WINTER OR BELOW A CERTAIN TEMP. MY HUSBAND LOVES HIS FISH AND HAS WORKED HARD KEEPING THEIR POND CLEAN.
HAVE A GOOD WEEK.

Thanks Glenda, that is EXACTLY what I said to him....it sure has changed, and even when I was a kid I got a few adults a little mad:) it was not fun anymore! He is such a good kid, I have to let him get into a little trouble to mold him into a fine young man....if he does not, he may go hog wild on me someday for sheltering him sooooooo.....

Oh Glenda, what a picture perfect pond! I love watching fish -- I'll even stare at them in their tubs at the garden center. This is just beautiful.
When i was a kid, our neighbor had "big goldfish" in a pond in his yard, and they stayed year round. I swear I remember them FREEZING over the winter, and popping back to life in the spring, but that's a memory probably warped by time. LOTS of time, hahaha!
