Woke up Saturday morning to a dusting of snow (first snow of the season). It looked like someone sifted powder sugar on everything! :-D It was pretty on my outdoor wreath, but by the time I had my coffee, etc., it had melted so did not get a picture.
Photographing a Christmas tree can be a real challenge to those of us who have no clue about all of the do and don'ts in photography
me,me,me,, never took the time to learn the settings on their camera
me,me,me, and needs to upgrade and get a
"big girl" camera me, me, me..
Several days ago I spent a little time playing around with different settings, and with different lighting in the room, and came up with quiet a few different pictures of my Christmas tree. Sad thing is - I don't remember what settings match the picture !!! :(
Yes - I did cut back on decorating this year. Pretend you don't see the urn of shells still on the coffee table. Ooops!
I did not put near the amount of ornaments on my tree this year as I normally do and it really made a difference - sorta looked skimpy in places - there is always next year.
Hit the streets this morning with list in hand, and actually got a lot accomplished. One of my stops was Aldi's. I had never been there before, but went looking for some shell shaped chocolates that
Pat @ Back Porch Musings mentioned in her post of 11/25/10 (sorry Pat but could not get it to link, but will try again later) . Did not find any at the store I went to, but did end up spending a bit on some other things to use on snack trays for upcoming get togethers. I have to admit, I was hesitant to buy some of the items since I was not familiar with the brands, etc. If you have shopped at Aldi's, would like to hear your info. about products and what is good and what is not.
I have learned over the years - Many of those beautiful decorated little treats are not all that tasty!
Another few stops, then on to do a major grocery shopping trip - Oh Yeah!! Think my bank account went into shock !!!!
Still have a necklace to make for a gift, a bit of wrapping left to do, and some special gifts to take care of and then will be done. How about you - Are you finished with the preparations?
I hope everyone out there in "Blogland" is enjoying the wonderful holiday season! Enjoying the company of family and friends, and all the wonderful tastes of the holidays that we indulge in only during this time of the year.
And hopefully don't have to have cholesterol and/or blood sugar tests done in the next few months!!! :-D
Most importantly - Remember the reason for the season!
Have a wonderful week!!!!!
