A Before and After....

with a little holiday decor added.
In July, one of my daughters sent me a pic of some "junkin finds" she scored.  This great old birdcage she scored at $5,  and  vintage canning jars (more on those another time).
She said,  she was going to paint and distress the cage, and here is a pic of the end result.  It was the first thing I noticed when she sent pictures of some of her holiday decor.

 ********
This is the same one that used to attend the flea markets with me when she was young. I would buy her a big soft pretzel with a bit of mustard slathered on it, and she would follow me around the flea markets with no complaints.  Then of course she hit her adolescent/teen years and flea markets became "boring".   However, it seems what she learned in her "early" years stuck with her.

She did a great job with it. She learned from you. Happy Thanksgiving to you Glenda.

That looks way better painted. She takes after her mother with her talents. You should mention to her that she can get paint to crackle using regular old white glue. Simply paint on the glue, and while wet, paint the color over it. Instant crackle and so much cheaper than buying the crackle product itself :-)

Very nice birdcage. I am so afraid of ruining something by painting it but what a difference! You must be a proud mama! Visiting from Make It Pretty Monday

What a sweet bird cage and she did such a good job of updating it with a little paint. She might have been acting bored, but she was listening:-)

Love how she styled the cage. We have four generations of junkers. We start them early!

That was a great find and looks beautiful on top of that cabinet (which is my favorite color)!

The birdcage turned out great. You have some great memories with your daughter! My daughter loves to thrift shop now and sometimes picks me up something she thinks I will like. We love to go together too. Thank you for sharing it at What We Accomplished Wednesdays.
