What is That Expression "The Best Laid Plans......

Have been planning to make a necklace using this locket made to look like a bible for some time now - pulled out supplies, and started wiring beads before thought to take a before pic...
Then opened the locket - Ouch !  The inside was badly tarnished, and not a patina in a good way.  I knew it was not silver when I bought it (new), but sure did not expect this to happen.  Tried cleaning it, but the tarnish would not budge.
So dug around in supplies and found some vintage spoon pendants I bought  a couple of years ago,  and the large ruby red, glass beads were salvaged from a necklace I bought in late 70's or early 80's.  End result...
Thinking it needs something added where the pendant is attached.  If I end up gifting it, maybe an initial charm? Hummm...

Linking up with "Metamorphosis Monday"

I love what you did! You really could leave it as is, but I think an initial charm might be nice, too. Wish I knew what to tell you about that charm. It's so unique, it's a shame it turned on you like that. Perhaps you could fill in the "pages" with some vintage dictionary pages and just decoupage over it? xoKathleen

It is beautiful. But the Bible pendant doesn't look so bad. I'm sure you can come up with a combo that fits with its look.

Glenda, this is beautiful. I love that spoon handle. I bet you are able to use the Bible on something too. It really doesn't look that bad, and it's a unique charm. laurie

Well that turned out so pretty!

Hope you have a great weekend. We just had a horrible storm roll through here with hail and looked like hurricane winds!
