Regardless of "that yellow film" that covers everything outside this time of the year, I took the camera out and snapped a few pics of the azalea blooms that are about to explode.
The buds are as pretty as the blooms, especially after such a bitter cold Winter, and too many episodes of ice and snow.
I only have the 2 dwarf azaleas in my courtyard, and one nearly always lags a bit behind the other when it blooms. Noticed today the buds had some catching up to do. However, that is ok, as there will be blooms for a longer period.
Of course the "puny" little hosta did its usual appearance. Pops up, grows a few inches then stops. That is it all it has done the last few years.
Have already told daughter to dig it , and a "puny camellia" up and take them with her the next time she is here. I suspect her flower beds were well fertilized with the "standard farm yard mix" for many years before they moved there. Maybe she will have better luck with the hosta and camellia than I have had.
Well, the photo session was short, as that "yellow stuff" sent me into a sneezing, coughing, eye watering, itching fit.
Don't know about anyone else, but I love seeing the buds and knowing the explosion of blooms is just around the corner.

I too, love all the things on the verge of just exploding into beautiful. Everything here is so lush and green. My favorite time of the year except for the allergies!

It's that time of the year. My car is covered with the yellow stuff too. Thanks for sharing your beautiful blooms Glenda.
Sorry about the allergies, Glenda. Two of my kids have them from spring through fall every year:(Even my husband and I get it pretty bad some years.) Your blooms look great. Kudos on the azaleas! We could never seem to get any to grow here in Chicagoland. I heard they're hard to grow. Or at least that's what we tell ourselves, anyway:)Here's to a blooming spring!

Isn't it wonderful to see things coming to life again? I am so thrilled to see sprouts and blooming things again. I find some varieties of hostas just don't do well here either. I sure wish I could grow azaleas, they're so pretty.
Always good to see colours coming back into the world, isn't it!
The horrible yellow pollen is finally leaving here. Azaleas are so pretty and were a little late here. Enjoyed seeing your garden.
I wish I could grow azaleas here....
It's tough when it's pollen season, soon enough we'll be covered in the yellow dust from the trees.
I was at the Ontario Hosta forum yesterday and they mentioned hostas like yours - I have one too. Because the plants are propagated by tissue culture sometimes the odd plant stagnates in growth. They suggested moving it to another garden bed.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Glenda.
I love spring and the beautiful buds. Your azaleas are lovely.. Have a happy day and week ahead!
Isn't it wonderful to see things finally blooming! We have some hostas in the front yard that are huge! I've never seen such big ones before. The pollen is just awful. I'm so grateful every time it rains!
Pretty
At least the hosta serves as an accent if even for a short period. They are usually hard to get rid of---interesting.
Everyone is so ready to start digging in the dirt. I plan to do some container gardening this year..on a very small scale. Can't wait....:)
beautiful :)
The promise of Spring is popping up all over here in Chicagoland area also even though the winter was a rough one. I enjoyed visiting your blog very much.
