What have I been doing today to avoid the heat? Making jewelry!! I had to put all the bling away while all the other projects were going on and company here. Yesterday I pulled my supplies out and decided to play for a while. Started on a necklace and realized I did not have what I need to finish the project, so thew it in a plastic bag and started a new project. Does that not sound like what happens when working on a household project - becoming a common occurrence around here!No vintage repurposed here. I bought this chain at a bead show some time ago and was saving it for something special. Why something special you ask? Because I think I paid to much for it to begin with. However, that special project just never happened. Anyway, my end result - The different shapes are dyed mother of pearl shell, and dyed fresh water pearls. The first 2 pictures are closer to the real colors.
I played around with the photo a bit ...... another thing I have been doing lately when it is to hot to play outside. :-D
No creativity involved here. I bought these parrot charms a while back - thought they were old, unusual, and I had found something a little different. Well - I was in for a surprise! Did some research and turns out they are very common. Oh well! Live and learn. Made a necklace and a pair of earrings.

I have to agree, it has been hot. But, after this past winter I can not complain. Love the pretty jewelry and the parrot is cute.
I keep hearing about the brutally hot weather around the country and here we are in San Diego suffering the coolest summer since 1916...I love the sun and some heat...wish I could take some of that heat from you all!!!..lol

I love how you created your mosaic, Glenda! Putting it in b/w and layering it is so cool. What program are you using? I am such a newbie at it and have only used Picnik but have tried my hand at Picasa. I've accomplished only the basics. LOL-

Hot it is...we were supposed to get a cold front moving through today, well not yet we haven't. They swore it was going to be beautiful here tomorrow...we shall see. The necklace is very nice. Why is it I am so fascinated by colored pearls. I'm always drawn to black ones, gray ones, pink ones...so unique.
I'm suffering right along with you - but I'm not quite as productive as you. :D

I love the colors your necklace! Now is a good time for an inside project! It is miserably hot! Frankly, we have all gotten a little snippy with each other :)When the squirrels get sluggish it's time to stay inside!
It is so hot here too! We finally had a shower today and it cooled off some.

Glenda, that is so funny-even the squirrels had to rest. It really has been horrible. I've enjoyed today in the 90's! Who would have thought I'd be glad to see the temperature in the 90's?
