Estate Sale Bling

Went to a couple of estates sales recently , but did not find a lot. First one advertised a lot of costume jewelry, and yes there was a lot. However the prices were on the high side, and none of it was marked so you had to ask the price (don't like having to do that). Told the sale worker what I was looking for to repurpose, and she said "we have had several people in today that does the same thing". Looked around at the furniture, and accessories (even tho was not in the market for any), and there were several antique pieces. An antique baby cradle on rockers for $650 was getting a lot of attention, but no one seemed interested in buying. Anyway, no purchases made there. Ran a couple of errands and stopped at another estate sale. Very little jewelry, but priced more reasonable, so did get these pieces to repurpose. The earrings have the old screw on backs.

Glenda, don't you hate it when they don't price things and make you ask? I think they have the chance to price it according to the person asking.. I love your treasures, they remind me of some my Grandma or Aunt had. Mother used to have the old style screw on backs.. I'm wondering if my sister happen to end up with them... thanks for bringing up a fun memory..
Thank you for swinging in to see my surprise makeover in the works.. I'm as excited as a pig in mud.... lol... only hope he gets the other in before the rains hit this w/k... if not I can be patient.. lol.. hugs ~lynne~

I hate to ask for prices, too. I think they size you up and then decide what the price is. I love your necklaces. I have one very similar that was my Mother's, and my daughter wore it to her prom. What's old is new again. These didn't come from Isaac Hayes estate sale did they? I saw it was last weekend.

Wow, love all the rhinestones and I can't wait to see what you do with them. So much of the costume jewelry I come across these days is way too expensive....hate it when they expect antique store prices at yard sales.
You sure found some good pieces.

Love those pieces of jewelry you got. My Mom had lots of pieces like those. She split them between her Granddaughters. Thanks for joining JFF this week. hugs, Linda

Grrrrr I hate that too Glenda! Makes me wonder if it's one price for one person and another price for me? And I hate stiff prices even more! But you found some great pretties at the second sale. I look forward to seeing your new creations, Vanna

Your new treasures remind me of my grandmothers! They both had pieces like those and when I was a little girl I used to try them on. When I had tea parties with my paternal grandmother, she would let me wear them as well as some of her dresses and hats.

Thanks for the great memories!

Glenda-Glenda- I have a necklace almost exactly like that one. It belonged to my grandmother! She had SO much costume jewelery! I wish it had been kept! I like your grandmother name. I suspect our little one will name me himself--and that is just fine with me! I am so happy he is coming that I don't care what he calls me! Have a good weekend!

Glenda, those are so pretty. I have a similar necklace to the one on the left that belonged to my mother. I bet you can create something wonderful with these pieces. I'm not sure I've ever been to an estate sale where they didn't have prices on the merchandise. I would hate that. It seems like that would be more trouble for the sellers to have to constantly being giving prices to people. Thankyou for linking your new pretties to Favorite Things. laurie

I hate it when stuff isn't priced!

I can always go in any sale or shop and find the ONE thing that doesn't have a price tag.....

Looks like you found some goodies!

Can't wait to see what you do with them....................
