Update on a Post From the Past

Some of you may remember this house and this post from March, 2009? I have not worked on any of my miniatures in some time now.

Posted March, 2009:

I have really been slacking lately, and have not worked on any of my miniatures or jewelry in quiet some time now (spending to much time on computer) :-) . The San Franciscan is my main miniature project at this point in time.

I started putting some flooring in and got frustrated. The alcoves in front of the bay windows are the problem, and I don't really want to buy a tool to cut the flooring. Think I will check around and see if someone has a small power tool to cut it with. Had to walk away from it for a while and have not gone back. Just may have to go a different route with the floors. I did do some wall measurements, so need to decide if I will wallpaper or paint the walls. This is what the inside looks like right now.

I am anxious to start putting the furniture and decorative objects inside. I would rather decorate, than do the construction work. :-)

Update almost 2 years later:
I could write that same post and it would be almost the same today. The part about jewelry - I do work on it off and on.
My miniatures? Well that is another story.
This is what the San Franciscan looks like now. About the only thing I have done is put some furniture in it to see if it is going to work out. Never did find any wall paper I wanted to use.

During the holidays, I mentioned to my children and grands, that I have been thinking about getting rid of the house and got this "what ?!?!?!?" reaction. So not sure what direction to take at this point in time.

Doll's houses have always fascinated me but I know I wouldn't ever have the patience or talent to create one myself.
Yours is delightful.

This is so cute. I love the caution tape you added in the back. With so many projects going on, it's easy to get distracted from some of them. Would your grandchildren be interested in helping you finish your dream home? It's a labor of love and just like our real homes, they're never really finished.

Hi Glenda...

Ohhh my...I think your San Franciscan is a beautiful house! I just love the architecture...that rounded moulding...on the porch! It'a a lovely color as well! My friend, your post just reminded me so much of my grandpa! Later in years, he did all sorts of crafts to keep his hands busy, making doll houses and the furniture is one of the hobbies that he took on! He made each one of my children (his great-grandchildren) their very own doll house! As I said, your post brought back sooo many fond memories for me! Thank you so much for joining in with the Sunday Favorite repost party this week...this was such a sweet post to share!

I do hope that you will make the time to finish this little beauty...she will be gorgeous...I just know!!!

Have a super Sunday, my friend!

Hi Glenda, I know what you are talking about! My main dollhouse is so far a more than 20 year project and is still not done. However, I am getting closer, so don't five up!! I think it looks really cute and I love the yellow tape idea! At least most project in a dollhouse to not take large amounts of time and soon enough you will be to the fun part. Mine was papered so long ago, that I am in the process of repapering because I did not like it anymore... Have fun, Linda
