Wildlife in the Courtyard

Went out in the courtyard to take some up to date pics last week, and what did I see! No - I am not talking about the weeds in the planter in the bottom right corner - just pretend you don't see those. I'm talking about the little fellow setting on the arm of the chair.

He/she did not move the whole time I was out there. Gotta feeling it was in shock after being kicked out of the nest and not getting any more "free meals from Mom or Dad".

Went inside for just a minute or two and when went back out, the baby robin was no where to be found. Hopefully it was able to fly off or hide in a safe place out of reach of the neighborhood cats !
On another day when I went out to water the plants and sit down in the courtyard to finish my morning coffee, I decided that may not be a good idea, as I did not know where the "builder" of this "structure" was lurking.........

Lets just say "I have a healthy respect" for spiders, as I don't know the good from the bad. I worked around it and got the plants watered, but finished my coffee inside. A couple of days later it was completely gone.

Linking up @ "Outdoor Wednesday"

Updated forecast starting 7/3.Won't be sitting outside any time soon......

Maybe this would be a good time to get caught up on a few things that need to be done inside (maybe).

Hope you are having a great week and staying cool !

What a sweet little robin. It does have that "what are you looking at" look on its face. I'd love to drink my morning coffee with the birds, but that spider web would keep me far away. Enjoy your AC.

Great shots, Glenda. I wouldn't mind the bird but I don't like the spider.....Christine

Love the spider web photo! They are so hard to capture on film and I think they are so lovely- when they are not in the house!

Oh it's burning up here in Colordo- literally. So sad to see all the beautiful mountains burning.

How super sweet that lovely bird is!! I remember years ago... a guy spray painted some boards black and while the paint was still wet he and pulled it from behind spider webs and he sold them for big bucks :-P I imagine there isn't a huge market for those lol
big hugs,
Cheryl

Did you doctor that spider picture? If not, I think you should make a post again in a few days so we can check to make sure the supersized arachnid hasn't cocooned you into a ball. Lovely courtyard.

The robin is adorable and the spider web is amazing! My plants are drooping so badly too.
Stay cool!

The robin is such an adorable little character! And love the detail of the web! Just by contrast, our temps are top 12 degrees centigrade lately! And it's raining! Photos are all from the archives for now!

I can relate to your temperature forecast and also young robins here and there throughout the gardens... and who would have thought that I would appreciate yesterday's hail storm... it was after all, very cold water that was so badly needed! Larry

Love the little baby Robin! How lucky you were to see it. We went swimming today at a friends house and there were HUGE spiders all hanging upside down under the rim of the pool, getting out of the heat I guess, but they were big enough to startle me! We rounded them all up and through them into the yard. Yikes! Looks like you've got some hot temps ahead. We just got through with about a week of temps around 105! Geez, it was hot!

Ewww, that's a huge spider web! I would love to see the builder of that one.

That forecast looks exactly like what we've been having the past week! It's almost 100 here today. Not a very festive 4th of July.

Looks like you get surprises in your yard more than you expect. That baby bird is sure cute but I could do without the spider web.
