Met. Monday

Time again for Metamorphosis Monday hosted by Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/. Thanks Susan for hosting again this week.

My contribution to share this week is a small one and very budget friendly. Some of you probabley already knew about the unfinished words you can buy at the Dollar Tree - I just found them last week . Since I plan on using some rubon letters to monogram some candles for small gifts, I thought one of these to go with it would work out great and the price is right.

Before. You can tell my makeshift dropcloth has seen many spray paint projects.

That is my small contribution this week. Be sure to visit Susan to see what she and the other participants have to share with us.

We finally got a break from the rain - yesterday and today were gorgeous days. Sunshine, clear blue skies and mild temps - gotta love it. And with beautiful weather like that, you gotta go play right ? Right! I had a couple of free tickets to a bead show, shared one with Laura from Hidden Promise http://hiddenpromise.blogspot.com/ , and we managed to take a little weight off our wallets on Saturday. :-) Hey - I was good, as I only bought 3 strands of beads since I need to use some of the supplies I already have. Now - how much weight did Laura's wallet lose you ask? I am not talking, but she is going to be making some beautiful jewelry! She repurposes old/vintage jewelry also and she had some georgeous pieces with her to match up with beads and such. Don't tell anyone, but she went back today. :-) Laura - If you read this, be sure and take pictures of your finished jewelry, as we want to see them.

Have a great week!

Hi Glenda! Loved your craft project and I love the dollar store too! I was just there last week and purchased a dozen little white Christmas trees. I brought them home and glued vintage pearls on them...kinda like the old fashioned bottle brush trees. You can see them on my blog header right now. Thanks for sharing your project...I think I need to grab my purse and head back to the dollar store! ~ xo Joy

I found those a few weeks ago myself. Love 'em! I spray painted my small "Family" one black, but, of course, I have to make the base part difficult. I'm trying to do a black and white checkerboard-y look to it. We'll see how that goes this week. At least I know if I mess up I can just paint the whole thing black.

Wow, they look GREAT. I cannot believe it, but I have missed these words at our Dollar Tree. Sounds like a good reason to go back, don't you think?
Thanks!
